Tungsten and molybdenum mineral resources in Luanchuan, Luoyang


The Luanchuan molybdenum mine is mainly distributed in Lengshui Town, Chitudian Town, Shimiao Town, and Taowan Town in the county. The main mining area consists of three backbone mining areas: Maquan Mining Area, Nannihu Mining Area, and Shangfanggou Mining Area. The total metal reserves of the mining area reach 2.06 million tons, ranking first in Asia and third in the world. It is a super large molybdenum ore field within China.

Distribution and Origin

 

The genesis of the formation of super large molybdenum deposits is: the type belongs to the skarn porphyry type molybdenum deposit. Its ore-forming parent rock is similar to that of 25 deposits in the East Qinling Dabie Mountains molybdenum mineralization belt

(1) Distributed within a 10km range of the contact zone outside the large granite foundation in a large area;

(2) Distributed at the intersection of deep faults and regional faults;

(3) The occurrence is a miniature rock stock, which is an isolated compound rock mass with an exposed area of 0.12km2, small in the upper part and large in the lower part. The area of the hidden rock mass in the deep part is greater than 1km2;

(4) The rock has a porphyry like structure, with potassium feldspar as a high-temperature variety and quartz as a β Type: An=7-20, mainly composed of plagioclase stones;

(5) It is a strongly acidic rock with a Rittman index of 2.58, belonging to the ultra shallow intrusive rock of the normal Pacific type calcium alkaline series with high acidity, high potassium, high alkali, and low magnesium calcium. The rock mass is easily mineralized at a depth of 15mg/kg, but most samples have Mo>50mg/kg, and some samples have Mo>300mg/kg;

(7) The rock formation and mineralization period is 142 Ma, belonging to the Early and Middle Jurassic, and the early and middle Yanshan period, which is the best mineralization period
